This is my dog Ruby, who is not camera shy and would be happy to say hello to any dog lovers.
Hi, I’m Michael
My path to becoming a therapist was greatly influenced by my queer identity and experiences navigating the world as a queer person. I understand firsthand the complexities and struggles that can come along with the journey of self-discovery and acceptance. Reaching out for support, and finding the appropriate support, was daunting and not an easy step to take. However, receiving support and becoming connected to the LGBTQIA+ community became a key part of my journey and inspired me to provide support to others on their own path.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, person-centered, and evidence-based. I am committed to creating a safe space where we can freely explore your emotions, unpack the obstacles you’re facing in life, and develop mechanisms that will help you move forward. Whether you're managing depression or anxiety, seeking to deepen your relationship with yourself, exploring your identity, transitioning, or navigating relationships, I'm here to provide support that will meet your specific needs and goals.
Outside of my work, I can likely be found at a rock concert, in line to get rush tickets for a Broadway show, playing music, connecting with the community, or having adventures with my dog.
I am based in New York City and offer virtual (telehealth) sessions only. If you live in New York City or New York State and think we could be a good fit to work together, please feel free to reach out and schedule a complimentary intro call!
